Appointments and treatments
You can make an appointment directly with the physiotherapist. This is known as ‘direct access physiotherapy’ and it is available under the Direct Access Physiotherapy (DTF) scheme. It means that you can see a physiotherapist as soon as possible. However, in some situations the physiotherapist may refer you to your doctor or a specialist first. There are procedures that have to be followed in the medical world. Our physiotherapists are trained to follow these procedures.
I do not work for a company where you have a practice. Can I still arrange to see a physiotherapist?
High Five Health Promotion provides in-company services. Many of our gyms and physiotherapy practices are set up as in-company facilities for our clients. This has to do with our corporate structure. Our in-company practices are only open to employees in line with the company’s third-party access policy. Click Book an Appointment to see the possibilities. Here you will find detailed information about the services available at each location and contact details for each practice. Please feel free to contact a practice if you have questions. If the service you require is not available at the location of your choice, we recommend that you look for another physiotherapy practice in your area.
How do I change or cancel my appointment?
If you want to change or cancel your appointment, please notify the physiotherapist you arranged to see at least 48 hours in advance. Here you can find the contact details for your physiotherapist.
What if I need to cancel my appointment at the last minute?
If you want to change or cancel your appointment, we ask that you do this at least 48 hours in advance. If you need to change or cancel your appointment less than 48 hours in advance, please contact your physiotherapist. If you cannot reach them by phone, send an email. If you change or cancel your appointment at the last minute, High Five Health Promotion reserves the right to charge for the session if the slot cannot be offered to another patient or used for fee-generating purposes. More information about this can be found in our Terms and Conditions.
I have coronavirus-related symptoms. Do I need to cancel my treatment?
If you cannot come to the practice because you have (mild) coronavirus-related symptoms, rather than cancelling your appointment, why not convert your session into a video consultation? Contact your physiotherapist to arrange this.
I have a physical condition but I am not sure if physiotherapy can help. What should I do?
Physiotherapy can treat most physical conditions. However, in some cases you will need to see your doctor first. Physiotherapists are trained to screen patients. This means that during the first session, the physiotherapist will ask you questions and check certain things to determine if physiotherapy can help. In most cases, it can and you can start treatment immediately. If not, the physiotherapist will refer you to the right person (see the answer to the previous question). You can always book an appointment directly with the physiotherapist. You can also reach out to our physiotherapists by phone and/or email if you have questions. The contact details for our physiotherapists are listed under locations. The easiest way to reach our physiotherapists is by email.
I am pregnant. Can I make an appointment for physiotherapy?
Yes, you can make an appointment directly with the physiotherapist. During the first session, the physiotherapist will determine how far the pregnancy has progressed, what symptoms you are experiencing, whether physiotherapy is possible and if so, in what form. If it is necessary to consult with your doctor, the physiotherapist will discuss this with you.
However, you can always check with your doctor first if it would put your mind at rest.
If there are or have been complications during the pregnancy, it is important to ensure that the physiotherapist is aware of this.
Fees and payment
Will the cost of the treatment be covered by my health insurer?
High Five Health Promotion has contracts with all health insurers in the Netherlands. In most cases, the cost of treatment is fully reimbursed by your health insurer so you do not have to pay for treatment. We send the invoice for your treatment(s) to your health insurer. However, in some situations you do have to pay for treatment. If you do not have supplementary insurance or if your supplementary insurance does not cover all of your physiotherapy treatments, you have to pay for the treatments yourself. If the problem for which you are being treated is listed as a chronic condition, the cost of treatment is covered by your basic health insurance from the 21st treatment session onwards. The cost of the first 20 treatment sessions is covered by your supplementary health insurance. If you do not have supplementary health insurance, or if your supplementary health insurance does not cover the cost of 20 treatment sessions, you have to pay for the treatment sessions not covered by your insurance yourself. If we have a specific agreement with your employer, the cost of these treatments will be covered by your employer. Always check this with the physiotherapist at your location just to be sure. You can also contact your health insurer to find out if you are eligible for reimbursement. Your health insurer will be able to tell you how much reimbursement you are (still) entitled to.
Our fees for the different types of appointments are listed here. These are the fees we charge if your (supplementary) insurance does not cover (all of your) physiotherapy treatments.
Our physiotherapists can treat almost all chronic conditions. For this to be possible, you must be referred for physiotherapy by your doctor or a specialist. Some insurers stipulate that certain conditions, such as peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and Parkinson’s disease, must be treated by a specialist physiotherapist to qualify for reimbursement. If you have one of these conditions, find out from your health insurer if this is a requirement. Several High Five physiotherapists specialise in treating these conditions. Ask the physiotherapist(s) at your location if they specialise in treating the condition you require help with before making an appointment.
